The Arain are Muslims of Arab origin who migrated to the subcontinent with Muhammad Bin Qasim and then did not return due to the fear of persecution by the then rulers in Damascus. When the British wanted land developed in the Punjab after its annexation, Arain were brought in to cultivate lands around the cities. The Arain were favored for their "hard work, frugality and sense of discipline."
Fear that Christianity aims to turn individuals from their families, communities and traditions hinders Arain families and communities from considering the Gospel.
Sustained, focused prayer is needed to open the hearts of Arain families to experiencing God's blessing through a movement of family-based discovery Bible studies.
There are no known believers within the large Arain community. Pray for laborers to have wisdom in applying the pattern Jesus gave in Mt. 10 and Lk. 10 for blessing Arain households.
Pray for Arain families to be drawn to Jesus (whom Muslims call Isa al-Masih), and to the Bible to find out more about this man. Pray that the Lord will start a movement of Arain families experiencing God's blessing.
"God has granted to the Gentiles [nations] also the repentance that leads to life." Acts 11:18
