There are many names used in many languages to refer to the Fulbe, or Fulani. Fula are primarily known to be pastoralists, but are also traders in some areas. One Fula tradition is that of women using Henna around the mouth, resulting in a blackening around the lips. The traditional dress of the Fula in most places consists of long colorful flowing robes, modestly embroidered or otherwise decorated.
The various Fulbe groups have a long-standing, strong commitment to Islam. It's part of their identity.
Christians need to help the Fulba with their material and physical needs, building bridges of trust and friendship.
There are a few followers of Jesus among the Fulba community, pray they will be nurtured by God's Spirit, and will become mature in the faith.
Pray the Fulba will be able to provide adequately for their families, as they live in a harsh region.
"All nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will bring glory to your name." Psalm 86:9
