Lunia (Hindu traditions) in India

The name Lunia comes from Lun or Nun meaning "moist," and is the name for sea salt. Hindu society classes Lunia people as Shudras, the lowest of the four caste blocks. They live in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and a small number are in West Bengal. They are 100 percent Hindus. They also worship their ancestors.

Ministry Obstacles

Lunia people need to understand that the gods they worship cannot give them eternal life, nor can they correct their sin problems. Bible resources exist in their Hindi language, but they remain unreached.

Outreach Ideas

Simple things grow/simple things multiply. Small groups could be started to maximize fruitfulness, such those described in Acts 2:41-47.

Pray for the followers of Christ

There are no known believers among the Lunia people at this time.

Pray for the entire people group

Pray for disciples reproducing disciples, churches planting churches, movements reproducing movements.

Scripture Focus

"...And the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Lord God, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes." Ezekiel 36:23
