In Iran this people group is known formally as Azeri, but informally the Azeris and other Turkic speaking Iranian populations are commonly referred to as "Tork" (Turk). Despite friction in the past, the Azeri in Iran came to be "well represented at all levels of political, military, and intellectual hierarchies, as well as the religious hierarchy." The living conditions of Azeris in Iran closely resemble that of Persians.
This region of Iran and Azerbaijan does not offer easy access to those who seek to introduce local families to God's blessing.
There is a strong movement of God's blessing among Iranian families. Pray that some will spread this movement also among Azeri families and communities.
There are a few believers among the Azeris of Iran. Pray that they will become effective and fruitful in sharing and discussing Bible stories with their own and other families.
Pray that the Azeri families of Iran will increasingly be drawn to Jesus (whom Muslims call Isa al-Masih), and to the Bible to find out more about this man. Pray that the Lord will start a movement of Azeri families experiencing God's blessing.
"And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations." Mark 13:10
